Indigo Quartet
Saturday 13 February @ 1.30pm Liven up your lunch-time at Mermaid with The Indigo Quartet. This multi-award winning group of 4 young musicians of diverse nationalities share the common aim of using the medium of string quartet to transmit to their audiences the maximum level of expressivity and emotion. The interesting mix of cultural backgrounds of the Quartet (Italian, Japanese, Irish and Muldovian) gives a broad spectrum of colour to the music they create. This special lunch-time performance includes a quartet from the classical era by Haydn, a powerful and dramatic quartet full of scandinavian images by Grieg, and a contemporary work by Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy entitled Pushpulling.
